Software is a long game. The code you ship today is code someone — often you — will read, run, and reason about for years. We write for that future reader: small functions, clear names, types where they pay back, comments where the "why" isn’t obvious from the "what".

We don’t take on more than we can do well. We’d rather have four good engagements running at once than ten thin ones. We’ll tell you if we’re booked, and we’ll refer you to someone better suited if a project isn’t in our lane.

We’re not interested in growth for its own sake. Estalio has been the same shape for years and is likely to stay that shape: a working consultancy that picks projects with care, ships them with care, and doesn’t play games about what consulting actually is.

The team works remotely across time zones. Our clients have been in North America and Europe; the work has shipped from kitchen tables, co-working spaces, and the occasional train carriage. Async-by-default, with a weekly live sync per engagement.

Estalio is headquartered in Ontario, Canada, with collaborators contributing from elsewhere on a per-project basis.
